Ideas...

This weekend is our Christmas Open House at the store and I have been Kit crazy for the last three days! I will have put together 102 kits by Tuesday night!  WOW!!

Anyway, once I am done with all this "kitting" I told myself I can do some creating for myself! So I have a few ideas in my head that I have been thinking about.

I am also pondering the idea of a November Grateful journal/mini-album. My idea is to write something each day I am grateful for or have a picture. I am thinking about using a purple WeR 4x4 album. Not very fall like, but I am ok with that.

I am thinking that some days (or maybe 25 out of the 30) could be a word or two. Again, VERY simple!!

Once again, it's Ali Edwards yearly "Week in the Life" week. I have thinking I may try this for the ump-teenth time and actually make it super simple so I may finish the book! I would use a 6x8 Red Simple Stories book!

Hmmm...now to get started!!
First thing, pictures. So, today I seriously took a few pictures. I ditn't want to be overwhelmed after the first day and end up quitting...which I have done numerous times in previous attempts at this project!

The whole idea of the "Week in the Life" is to take a picture documenting your entire day: morning through night. That just does not work for me. I forget or get very overwhelmed by the amount of photos I take!

So, these are the photos I took today and I will (hopefully) include in my "week of" book. They are unedited!! I want to share with you how I edited them for my book.
My favorite fall tree in our yard.

A Halloween decoration!

A few kits in the making!

Jack's monkey and blankets left in my bed. (love this!)

Me in the car...I was at a stop light!!

The book I started reading today.

My weakness right now.

Playing at the park in the afternoon.

I realize there are not a lot of the boys and not a one of Jason. I just wanted to get the highlights of the day, not every detail. (Not saying Jas isn't a highlight!!) My hope is that I will get all the "details" through the week.

I have also thought of doing a week of Sam and a week of Jack. Just to change it up. I think the boys would love to go back and check those books out in later years!

Hope you don't get bored with my posts this week seeing the process of a scrapbook! Well, maybe not a scrapbook, but of a few pages!!

Throw Back Thursday

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of Sam.
I fall in love with it more each year.
It is Sammy at his first Vikings game with Jason. (look. His head barely is over the railing!) He was just five years old! It was a guy's weekend and they spent their time riding rides at the Mall of America on Saturday, dinner on Saturday night, sleep over in a hotel and going to the Vikes games on Sunday. A big weekend for just a little guy!!  So sweet.
Time goes by sooo fast.
*sniff*
Yea, I don't know if I can emotionally handle these TBT postings!!

Our Famliy Rules...

I am sure you have seen the signs about  family rules.
If you get on the internet, there are hundreds of variations of the "family rules." I don't have an issue with these signs...I like them and thought about purchasing one when I first saw them. I want my boys to have all these characteristics...who wouldn't!!

Then I ran into this one...
This fits our family much better and fell in love with these rules!! I can honesty(and proudly) say we do all this, except have  food fights.

The bummer part is that I didn't buy it when I saw it and now I can't find it anywhere! Darn it! But never fear, I think I could make it or have another person create it for me!! And leave out or change the food fight.

 THEN...I saw this.
I would love to take the above rules and do this on one of my walls.

I could actually cut the words out on my Cameo machine...hmmm. This would be really cool, but a sign would be easier!
What's a girl to do...

New Digs for Gilligan

Happy Halloween, Gilligan!

Jack thought it would be a great idea to give Gilligan some Halloween digs! So off we went to Pet Smart to purchase a haunted house and a coffin that spouts out air bubbles!
We quickly found out that the tank was not large enough for all of Jack's goodies, so we settled on the house and a small plant..which, acording to Jack, is Gilligan's favorite plant. Plus, we figured out we didn't purchase an air pump that is needed for the coffin to spout bubbles. Oops.
Gilligan really seems to enjoy his new set up. And his fresh water.

Are you looking at me?

Scandal

Holy Buckets!

I have been binge watching this show for a couple of weeks now, I and cannot get enough of it!!
http://cdn.media.abc.com/m/images/global/generic/shows_1x1-hirez/scandal.jpg
My  mom kept telling me that I just had to watch it when it first aired, but I didn't listen.  Boy was she right!  I would highly recommend checking it out on Netflix and you will be hooked and you will be late to work...not that I did that!!

Another show that I would recommend is...

 https://fanart.tv/fanart/tv/264586/seasonposter/orange-is-the-new-black-536935dae2843.jpg
It is a Netflix original, so there's language and some racy parts, but still an extremely good show!  Binge watched this one too!

I know I have already shared this binge watch, but another show you would love!
http://www.lynnegolodner.com/wp-content/uploads/downton_abbey_poster4.jpg
This one is not available on Nextflix, so you would need to buy/rent or borrow the DVDs. It is set during the pre-WW I era and up to WW 2 and it is just as scandalous as the other shows I watch. Soooooo gooood!

What will you Binge watch this week?

Push Ups

Suddenly one day, Jack said, "Mom, look what I can do."
Is he doing push ups on my desk?

Why, yes he is.

Why is he doing push ups on my desk?
I have no idea.
Look mom, I can even do a one handed push up!
Why, yes you can my little man.
Such a proud mom moment.

Throw Back Thursday

#TBT
What is "TBT" you ask. "Throw Back Thursday."  Which means a day to post old photos!! Oh, I could have a lot of fun with this day!

Check out this old picture of Jack!  When he was little, he would and could fall asleep in the car, or anything that was moving or in motion. Including a grocery cart!!
Yep, SOUND ASLEEP in the bottom of a Target cart!
(I see I was purchasing the staples of an essential diet: pop, coffee and cheetos!)

I am almost jealous of this ability!!
Amazing.

A New Pet!

Check this Out!!
Getting out of the car after school, this little guy came up to us to say hello! Check out how he is just a little bit bigger than a leaf! He was soooo tiny!!
Yea, this little baby squirrel came right up to us!
It was crazy!!
From this angle you can see how little the squirrel is! He was actually following us around in the garage!! He would suddenly try to act tough and try to make clicking noises and shake his tail at us. Very intimidating!

But then it would hop right back up to one of us.
He came right up to Jack and gave Jack's sock a sniff over. He quickly learned that Jack's feet weren't something you 't want too sniff too long!!
The boys wanted to pet it, but I said "NO WAY!! With our luck it will bite you and not let go and then you will have to go to school with a squirrel on your hand!"  A you can see, they both started to watch it a bit more closely!
Sam gave him a buckeye that he had found while coming out of school. The nut was way to big for the little guy and he had a terrible time holding it, but it never gave up!
(Great senior pose, Sam!)
 He was pretty darn cute.

Eventually, I had the boys shut the garage door so he wouldn't follow us in there! I stayed outside while they did this and had them open the service door. I ran to the door, with that little guy right on my heals!! I got the door shut just in time...or the little guy would have met my big scary dog, Moose, and I don't think that would have gone over very well!!

Later, I was telling Jason about the squirrel.  He said if his dad, Roger, would have been here, he would have caught the  squirrel and made a home for it and kept it as a pet. Jason's dad use to "rescue" baby raccoons and ground squirrels when he and his sister were little. They would get the baby creatures out of their cages and Jason would have them crawl all over him! He loved it. He would feed them sugar water with an eye droppers. Ew. And I thought maybe the little guy had eaten some mouse poisoning and was just a bit disorientated.

Hello!

Welcome Back!
Thanks for your patience and understanding that I needed a break from the blog world! I got a little heat from Sam that other night about not blogging.  Which I thought was funny...he is living the stories that are on the blog!! Anyway, hope I didn't lose too many readers and honestly...life hasn't slowed down and I really don't think it will. Just need to find a balance!

Anyway, I want to share a few photos of Jerry....I mean Jack!  It was TBT (throw back Thursday) last week at school and we started talking about a costume he could wear about, oh I would say, 7:00 pm on Wednesday. So, we headed to our costume box. Yes, we have a costume box! Check back in previous years posts and you will see how much the boys liked to wear costumes!! Anyway...we lucked out and found Sam's hippie costume from two years ago! Score!! And the bonus...Jack was in love with it!!

Yes, I finally asked the question, "Why do you keep crossing your eyes??"
He explained, "My glasses feel weird on my nose and I am trying to figure out why."
Silly me.

Much better, Jerry Garcia!!
It almost worries me how comfortable Jack was in his attire. At one point he was sitting on my bed and says, "Mom. I just LOVE this outfit."  He called it an outfit. Oh my.  When Jas tucked him into bed that night, he told Jason, "Dad. I cannot wait to go to school with my outfit on."

And sure enough, he was up bight and early the next morning and dressed before I had my coffee maker warming up!  He wore the entire get up ALL day and reported that it was one of the most fun days he has at school!

I love that he was secure enough to wear such a get up to school and not worry about what others may think of him...that wouldn't have happened last year!  So, I guess this outfit was a good thing for him. Shows that he is feeling more confident and secure in himself. Or, Jack is going to be a  free spirit and follow the tours of the groups Pearl Jam and Phish. His dad would love that!!

A Little Break...

Hello, Friends!

Just wanted to let you know that I am going to be taking a little break from the blog world.
http://blog.travefy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/wonderful-beach-hd-wallpaper-nature-amp-landscape-wallpapers.jpg

Yea...I'm not going on any fancy vacation as this picture would suggest. It just seems that all "bloggers" post a beautiful beach picture when they take a break from blogging...but that is because they are going to a beach like this!

Nothing fancy for me during my break. I've just been dealing with
chipped thumb bones,
(It's much better now!)

sliced palms,

pulled teeth,

Projects, Projects and more Projects,

and I just need to get caught up on life!  I love every minute of it all (except for blood and when the boys are hurt), it's just that I have loads on my plate right now and unfortunately, my blog is the last thing on the plate I deal with ...kind of like my lima beans when I was a kid. Once I get my plate a bit more clean, I will be back!  Just for a week or two!
Please check back!!
Until then...Think of me while we try to pick out a Halloween costume for Jack.

Decisions, Decisions!!
