Jack Got It...

I was awaken by jack at 1:23 in the morning stating those dreadful words, "Mom. I just threw up." And of course...Jason was out of town and he usually does clean up duty, but I was on my own. So I took a deep breath...and headed upstairs to Jack's room. Yep. He sure did get sick, right in his bed. Bless his heart..he told me he tried to keep it all none place. (ew.)
So, to make a long story short, I built a nest of towels on the floor in our room, for him to lay on. It was quite comfortable due to the layers after layers of towels!! Thank goodness, I had some children's Dramamine on hand and gave him one (cross my fingers) to settle him tummy. He did fall back to sleep and did not get sick again!  Yea, it worked!! As you can see, I had a bucket close...just in case!  Sorry if that grosses you out...it's clean!

Now I just KNOW that Sam will be getting it in two days. It always works that way. And Sam is a little more dramatic about the whole "sick" business.  Nothing to look forward to...for either of us. I just keep telling myself that Jack didn't have the flu...it was something he ate...and Jas will be home for clean up duty!

A "Love Letter"

Last week, Sam opened up his locker when he got to school and a note (from a girl) dropped out!

Here is what it says (she is so organized!):
Sam,
Would you go out with (girl's name)
yes
no
and then she listed the classes that they have together...just in case he wouldn't know who she is.

Do you even like her?
yes
no

Do you like anyone?
yes (if checked please answer the next question)
no (if checked don't answer next question)

Who do you like? (optional)
______________________
(first and last name please)
Just in case she would like to have a few words with this gal!
(if no one please just say "none")

Please return to locker number ### by Wednesday if possible. Friday at the latest.
Thank you!

I feel a little bad for the girl because on the return date dead line, the note was still sitting on Sam's dresser!  I don't know about you, but when I wrote a note like this at Sam's age, I just couldn't wait for the return answers!!  It got his attention though!

I wonder if I would get his attention if I would create one of these notes for his chores!
Dear Sam,
Have you finished your chores?
yes
no

Did you even attempt your chores?
yes
no

If you answer "no" for the two questions, then unfortunately you get to clean the toilets!

Hmmmmm...this just might get his attention, too!

Sound Asleep!

When Jason is out of town, it never fails...one of the boys will end up sleeping in my bed!
This night, it was Jack.  Now Jack doesn't just jump in bed and go to sleep...he first must build a nest! He gets a few pillows, a few blankets and a couple of stuffed animals for support. OH...this night he even tucked a drink in between the pillows...you can see the blue lid peeking out! It's a wonder that I had any room!!

Olmpic Fever....

The other night I kept hearing a bit of an annoying noise.
cha kink
cha kink
cha kink
Just when I was about to yell, "WHAT ISTHAT NOISE?"
Sam came walking into the room.
I remember watching the Olympics when I was Sam's age thinking...someday I could do that! I could be the next Dorothy Hammel (I had the haircut!) So I had to laugh when Sam walked in saying, "Check out the next Olympic medalist!"

By the looks of that missing tooth he might be a hockey player...who am I kidding...Sam would think that sport is a little unsafe! Maybe cross country skiing would be more his thing!

Aunt...

The boys have always called my sister "Aunt." They don't call her Aunt Megan or Aunt Meg...it is just plain "Aunt."

Fast forward to the other night...Jason came out and says, "Katie! Is you sister ok?"
I looked at him with big eyes and said, "As far as I know!  Why?!?!?"
He explained, "Well they just had on the news that "Aunt was arrested!"
"What??" I said...and so he showed me...
We had a good laugh, took a picture of the headline  and sent it off to my sister asking, "ARE YOU OK?"

Hmmmm.

When walking through the house the other day, I spotted Jack's t-shirt on the steps.
That's odd, I thought.

Then I looked up and saw his pants at the top of the stairs. Now I am starting to wonder...

Unfortunately, I have no answer. He was at school and I was pretty sure he had clothes on when I dropped him off...and Jack is rarely in a hurry for anything. So it will be one of those "Jack" mysteries that are left unsolved.

Poker Face...

"Mom, you wanna play poker with dad and I?"
"No."
"Come on!! You have to play poker with us! We are going to use real poker chips!"
"That's ok. I'm good."
"Come onnnnnn! Just a few hands!"
"Fine."
This is Sam's poker face. His poker face is saying, "Why did I ever ask her to play poker with us?"

Why is Sam's poker face saying this? Because...look at all my chips! Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner....IS MINE!!!

New Addiction...

Why haven't I been blogging? Because I have been watching this  very addictive show!!!
For Christmas, my sister gave me the first three season of Downton Abbey.  I didn't know what to expect when starting to watch the show. I heard it was amazing, but was a bit skeptical due to the time period (early 1900s.) But after the first couple of episodes...HOOKED!! The first season starts with the sinking of the Titanic (interesting!) and ends with the beginning of WWI. The characters are introduced and a few that are down right nasty...which if great fun! There are many twists and turns and some very unexpected events...which you wouldn't think were happening in the early 1900s! And the scandals!! I told a fellow watcher that I thought the show was fantastic...she looked at me and said, "It just gets better.
It didn't take long to get through season 1 and I was off to season 2! WWI has started and has a great effect on Downton Abbey, which is turned into a hospital for soldiers that no longer need medical attention, but are not ready to go home. Three of the characters go off to war and are effected in different manners...as is everyone in Downton. As in the first season, there are actually two different stories going on...one with the family upstairs and the other with the servants in the lower part of the house. They do intertwine, but the servants lives are kept much more private then the family's, due to the fact, that the servants overhear the family's "business" because they are their servants.  Another great season.
I am currently watching the third season, and the year is 1920. The first few episodes throw some major unexpected events and curves at you! I would share, but I don't want to give anything away!! The writers for this show are amazing and do not hesitate to change up the characters lives at a moments notice...just when you think all is well! This season has actually made me "well" up! Love it!
Jason fed my addiction by buying me season 4!
It's the perfect way to pass time on a snowy day...I highly recommend it!
