Happy Birthday!!

Happy 11th Birthday, Moosie May!
(we gave her the middle name "May" because we adopted her in the month of May!)

A shout out to all six of my blog followers...I WILL be back! Our lives have been crazy busy, but will be a bit more "calm" in the weeks to come. Want to get back to blogging and sharing our latest adventures...Like how the cops showed up at my mom's house on Halloween night because her neighbor thought we (all four of us) were breaking into her house!

Hope to get back on schedule next week!!

Andy and Amy's Haunted House

One of my favorite things about Halloween (like I have a lot of favorite things??) is Ellen's annual trip to the Halloween Haunted House at Universal Studios. Universal Studios...how scary would that be??  This year she sent Amy, as she does every year, and another person on her staff, Andy. It is one of the most hilarious things I have ever watched!  Enjoy!!

A New Old Table...

I have been painting and prepping some items for my new craft room. I am SO ready to move into my new space that I can hardly stand it! Sometimes I go into the room and just stand there...anyway...

I finally found a table that was the size and height that I was looking for, but not the color. I don't mind black, but just wasn't the look I was going for.

I have been watching ALOT of HGTV and so I decided I would and could paint the table. Can't be that hard, I have been watching HGTV so much, that I think I could install a wood floor or a perfect stone back splash at this time. As you can see Moose is super excited about our art project!

After dropping the boys off at school, I headed to Home Depot and purchased a few cans of spray paint.

I sprayed the table. REALLY not the look I was gong for. Looks like...I spray painted a table.
So I spayed gray paint over the white. Yea...not the look I was going for.

While sitting and looking at the mess, I decided to take a block of sandpaper and drag it across the sprayed areas. If it didn't work, I could sand down the entire thing and start over.

There we go...more of the wood grain look I was hoping to achieve.

So after much spaying and dragging and painting and sanding, I finally achieved somewhat the look I wanted. Still pretty flat and one dimensional...

I suddenly spotted this corner..THIS was how I wanted my table to look like.

So I headed to my craft paints and found some black, so I decided to paint on streaks of black. I did have to go over the entire table with streaks of white and gray. WOW...the never have to do THIS on HGTV!!

The legs of the table were my next project. I needed them to look rough in order to match my table. No problem...dragging them across the cement was PERFECT!!
Jack had a great time helping out. Yep...I was STILL working on my project at three in the afternoon...six hours after dropping the boys off at school!
Here you can see the new leg compared to the "new" old looking leg.

And here is how the table ended up after all my sanding and painting and streaking...streaking of paint colors..not me! :)

Here is my finished project. A new old table!! I will put the legs on the table once we carry it into the my new space!!

Now I am waiting by the phone for HGTV to call and offer me my own show!! Heehee!!!

Oh My...

I parked my car in the garage. I walked behind and saw the NASTIEST thing in the world, but I wasn't sure what it was. I took a closer look and saw that I had just ran over a HUGE toad. It was squished...on one side. It was HORRIBLE!! Oh dear...what's a girl to do? So I got Moose's pooper scooper and flung it...about a foot away. So I left it there.

Check out how big the blood squish was!! NASTY!!
The boys checked out my squished frog and declared it just as nasty as my mowed over snake!
But, I would much rather be dealing with a frog than a snake!

A Viewing...

I took the boys to view their billboard.

As you can see, they were super excited!!

We plan on taking Moose out for a viewing, too.
I have a feeling she won't be jumping though.

Sam Dude...

At school, for Homecoming week, the kid dressed  different "theme" each day. On "Choose a Decade Day" Sam chose his favorite...the hippie decade.

Only sixth grade kid I know that can grow a 'stache!

His hair stayed on until second period.  He just didn't understand why anyone would want long hair, "I just don't get it, mom." I didn't get it either, how tangled it could get in two hours!! It looked like a long rat's nest!

DUDE!!

Hello!

I guess I took a little unexpected vacation from blogging. We have been doing bloggable things, but life has been crazy at our house lately. Trying to get a so much completed, that I haven't even had time for a nap! Now that is busy! Though...one day I was so exhausted that I did sleep through the house building!! Will get back to blogging next week. Hope I didn't lose all 10 of my followers!!

Oh..I am back on the Starbuck's wagon. Frappuccinos were doing a number on my tummy, so I quit them some time ago. But, when the cold weather reared it's ugly head, I started my Latte habit...and it felt good.
Have a good weekend!
