Dentist, Loose Teeth and Tartar...

Over break we had dentist appointments...

The boys wear sunglasses at the dentist, so when they are tipped back in the chair, the don't go blind!  Sam does fine at the dentist, but is always a little apprehensive.  He has a loose tooth and SO DID NOT want it to come out. So our dentist gave him until June 1st to get the little guy out.  A little encouragement always seems to work for Sam to get a tooth out on his own terms.

Jack is a little more relaxed at the dentist. He likes to know how many loose teeth he has AND how many are in his mouth. But, if you ask him those questions today, I can't guarantee that he would know the answers.  Sam doesn't like to get the tar-tar (tarter in Belding Boy terms) scratched off, but knows it's for the best.  We found out that Jack has an "uncontrollable" tongue. When the dentist hygienist scarps the tar-tar off his teeth, his tongue pushes forward as an uncontrolled reflex. She showed me what his tongue was doing...Interesting...Like most things when it comes to Jack.

MOM!!

MOM!! We have been posing for pictures and you haven't been sharing our stories?

You make us put on these HUGE cup holder hands and hold glass red solo cups, get a good laugh and you aren't sharing?

So, you are going to get back on schedule?  We'll "cheers" to that!

Project Life...February...

Still enjoying my "mini" project life album. For the most part, I have been able to keep up with it SO much better then the 12x12 Project Life album! Here are some pages from February...

We visited Zombie Burger...Jack's least favorite place!

I included a menu from Zombie burger and scraped right on it!

This is the back of the menu...Jack got the flu the night we went to zombie Burger.  I had this mini calendar from a pack of Elle's Studio journaling cards (available at memory bound!) this little card was perfect for writing about the Flu Week!!

Pictures of Jack with the flu.

A picture and story of Sam with the flu! these pages still make me go ewww.

Included the uneventful story about Valentine's Day!

Pictures of the boys' valentine boxes...

I have scraped a few "full" size pages.  the pages are 6x8 and I actually had some difficulty scrapping in such a small area!  After doing several pages, I found my mojo and that I really enjoy the smaller size.  I scrap in the same manner, but just in a smaller scale. I print the pictures off in a smaller size (duh!) and can use "smaller" elements as the focus, such as the Polaroid frame I used with this picture.

I purchased some new Polaroid die cuts and think they will work great in my mini book!  (available at memory  bound!)

this is a story that I want the boys to remember...How they HATE when I have to go to Victoria's Secret!  Jack use to go in there and pose like the mannequins.  Now he won't step foot in the store...how a few years can change your view!!! sometimes I just say I have to go buy new "under garments" just to get them all worked up!!

And I had to include a picture of the stink eye!!!

I have actually filled up this first album with January and February pictures, which is A-OK with me!  I have figured that I will take up one album for every two  months and simple stories has just enough color of albums for me!!

Rock and Roll!

Since the boys haven't been able to get outside much, they have been building lots of Lego's.
Here's one of their latest creations....

A Star Wars Rock 'n Roll concert!

As you can see, Luke is the lead singer. The creature on the left is using his hatchet for his guitar and Bo Ba Fett is jamming out on the drums.  Who is that in the background???

It's C3PO manning the sound system!

And here's all the fans that have come to jam out to a little Star tunes!!

Boy... we sure do need warm weather to come our way!

Volunteering...

At school, Sam's classroom has an optional project of volunteering in the community. Sam knew right away that he wanted to participate and do his volunteering at the library! (we love the library!)  He made the initial call and talked with the head volunteer person about the steps he needed to take.  We then stopped up at the library and he picked up a volunteer application, filled it out and set up a little interview. I was so proud of him!

On his first night he shelved movies in the children's section and put together pamphlets.  He loved every minute of it!! He even stayed an extra 15 minutes!! What dedication!

When it was time to take him to the library, I asked him if he wanted me to walk him in. "No. I think I've got it!"  Oh. I thought to myself.  My little boy is growing up.  I was also glad that he was ok doing this on his own..so much braver than his mother was at this age! Good job, Sam!

Wacky Wednesday....

I apologize for the lack of blogging, but there really hasn't been anything happening that seemed blog-worthy! The most exciting thing is that yesterday was Wacky Wednesday at school, due to celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday this week. So both boys created their own wacky outfits.
This was Sam's little number.  When I dropped him off at school, he started to panic a bit.  He really didn't see anyone that was wearing wacky clothes.  I told him not to worry about it...there will be others when he gets inside.

Sure enough, there were plenty of kiddos that participated in Wacky Wednesday...one of his friends even dressed up as a girl!! Sam said he had a great time and got compliments on his hippie vest from teachers...I bet they use to have one just like it!!

This was Jack's idea of wacky clothes.  When dropping him off, he didn't hesitate or worry a bit!!

When Jack got home, he said how lots of kids in his class had worn wacky clothes, but their clothes were all gray and not very colorful!

He also said that lots of kids had their shirts inside out or backwards...which wasn't wacky because as jack put it, "I do that all the time!"  Which, yep, he does!

Yea, I Watch This...

(Phil, Jase, Si (Cy) and Will)

One day, a friend at work (Tess) told me she had to make a confession. I thought, "Yea! This should be good!" She sat down beside me and said, "I watch Duck Dynasty."  Well, at that time i had no idea what in the world was Duck Dynasty, but with a CONFESSION, I was going to find out.

Well, it just so happened that Duck Dynasty was having a marathon on A&E and after watching one episode, I was sucked in.  Later that day, I found myself confessing to Tess that I was watching my fifth episode, in a row, of Duck Dynasty.

The show is about a family that lives in the deep south, I believe Louisiana.  The father, Phil, spent 25 years making duck calls and other items for duck hunters  It is now a multi-million dollar business which is ran by his son Will.  Phil's brother, Si (Cy) and his other son, Jase are all part of the business.  They stay true to their deep south roots and their family values, which provides the humor. It doesn't hurt that Si is about crazy!

If you haven't checked it out, you may want to try a few episodes. It's okay...you can call me and confess you like the show...no judgement here!
