A Family Birthday Party...

We have been doing a lot of celebrating this weekend!
Jack turned six on Thursday, so we had family and friends over that evening for cupcakes, ice-cream and of course gift opening!

Right now, Jack is liking Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean, (though he hasn't seen any of the movies.)

Grandma Sharon gave him a full Jack Sparrow costume! Jack was in heaven...

He also got a new hammer. So he can help Jason finish the fort...or he could hammer in the morning or in the evening or all day long!

A new GREEN monkey.

And some new underwear from my sister...which he wasn't to thrilled about. She then told him it was a joke and gave him what he was hoping for...a Lego set called "The Mill" from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Another successful celebrated birthday.

Hmmm...

On Monday morning, I went downstairs to iron a shirt before heading off to work. I rarely iron my shirt - right now I think my body heat can relax all the wrinkles - but this one was extra wrinkly and needed a pressing. So off to the basement and what do I find? Our window well window has completely fallen out and is laying on the floor. I think the storm on Sunday night shook our house so much that it shook that window right out of the brick.

Well, of course, Jack thought this was one of the best things EVER...he could reach all of his little friends from a different angle.

What little friends you ask?

The frogs and toads...there were two sitting on a brick right by the OPENED window.

"Do NOT LET that little thing JUMP out of your hands!" I stated.
The boys keep all their frogs in this window well..so now I am a bit concerned about how many might have gotten into the house. UGH!! When Jason went downstairs to fix this mishap, there was a frog sitting on the edge of the window sill..on the INSIDE!!

Moose wasn't far behind.
A friend suggested maybe Moose would get the frogs in the house. Then I said, "Great. She will catch the frog and then spit it out and I have to clean up half chewed frog. OR, she eats some of it and then throws up and I have to clean up v-mit and half chewed frog. "
I don't win with any frog in the house.

Take Us Out to the Ball Game!!

Who can go to Chicago without going to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game? Not us!!

Had to take a quick photo with Harry Carey...even though the boys did not know who he was!

We had fabulous seats and amazing weather for the game...and lots of people watching!

I asked a gentleman behind us to take our picture with the field in the background. Not a good idea to ask someone who seems as if they have never handled a camera...even if they say they have a camera just like you..which they really don't because they do not know how to get the field in the picture because they are not sure how to turn the lens...even asking him to take it two times after showing him how to get us all in...this was the best we got....just us.

the baseball field from our seats!

We ate a lot of peanuts...

Eddie Veder, from Pearl Jam, sang Take Me Out to the Ball Game in the 7th inning stretch. Veder is Jason' s all time favorite singer/song writer. I thought he was going to climb the overhang to see Veder.

A little 7th inning stretch...

A ride on the over packed train...this is the only angle I could get of the boys!

And one last photo of our trip...right before we got off the train.

I have a lot more vacation pictures, but i will spare you all...
If you think I had alot of pictures from this trip, wait until we go to Disney World!!

Chicago Day 3...

Aren't you glad we were only there for FOUR days!!
On this day, we headed to Shedd Aquarium (from 11:00-4:30!)

The "displays" were amazing! This one was of camouflage fish...how cool is that!

The boys were watching the stingrays swim under them on this glass walk out.

Checking out some jelly fish.

In front of the penguin case.

The boys are watching an anaconda EAT A RAT!! The snake wrapped itself around the rat and basically squeezed it to death and then ate it. Nothing like front row seats for that...I HATE snakes and about passed out when I saw this snake...it was HUGE!! The boys are down by its head...can you see SOME of the body on the upper right...it still gives me the shivers!

Jelly fish!! Much more my speed...

A small crab...yummy!!

After dinner, we headed back to navy Pier to watch fireworks and ride the Ferris wheel (oh yea) at night.

Jack got a little nervous when getting closer to the Ferris wheel. so his big brother reassured him!

No texting this time!

Jack held on tight to Jason this time...

Wow, dad, you have some big muscles!

Is it over yet...

Only one more day of vacation pictures...and then back to "real" life!
