Now I had a white bench with black streaks.

So here comes the sanding. My favorite part. I must be careful not to over sand!! As you can see, I took it to the wood where it would be naturally worn down. I can hear my dad as we speak, "I can't believe you did this to that bench!!" But dad, you must remember..better to be tucked in the basement never to be used OR change it up a bit and actually use it!!   

Another easy way to get the worn look, is to drag the item on the cement. The guys working on our house must have thought I was crazy, but it looks awesome!!

Almost. The bench seat was super shiny and just didn't match the rest of the bench. No problem!
