Moose Crafting with Me!

Where ever I go, Moose follows. So, when I finished my new space, Moose was a bit lost at  where to "settle" herself.
She liked laying on the floor, but Moose definitely likes her soft carpet. So when I put her bed in my room, pushing it under the table to get it out of the way one day, she was thrilled! Now she has a comfy spot...close to me! It's like a fancy little dog house!

Jack's Got Moves Like Jagger!

Jack started basketball and boy does he have some moves...like Jagger (Mick Jagger)!!

Keep you eye on the ball!

I'm gonna get you!

It's all about the socks.

I can even do the moon walk while dribbling!

I enjoy watching Jack play and love to watch his moves!

Let the Sunshine In!

Every morning when taking Jack to school, he chit chats on and on and then he is suddenly silent.
I look over to see this.

The sun hits him directly in the face!
Good morning, Jack!

Sam and Curious George...

Jack LOVES to watch Curious George.

Especially in the morning while having breakfast.
Sam joined Jack one morning to watch an episode.
Curious George was looking for items to help him sound proof a chicken coop.
George looked in SORTED recycle bins. One had white packing pieces (looks like that popcorn stuff.) George put the packing pieces in his ears to use as ear plugs. The next bin George went to was full of plastic pop bottles. He picked them up, looked in them and decided that a plastic bottle would not help him sound proof his chicken coop.
Sam suddenly couldn't take it anymore!
He declares, "Doesn't he know how unsanitary it is to go through those bins! He picked up those pop bottles! Those aren't clean! And what if someone was sick and drank out of one of those and now George picked it up and he will get sick!  And those popcorn things in his ears!!!"
I have been looking at him this entire time. I finally say, "Sam! It's a cartoon! I think George will be ok!" I think it suddenly dawned on Sam how he was going on and on. He looked at me and said, "Well, still."

Oh my little germ-a-phobe.

Hmmmm...

Sometimes when your mom is shopping, you just need to sit with a chicken mask on your face to pass the time. And you thought my facial mask was nasty, young man?!

Love This!

Love this picture!
Wish it wasn't so blurry!

Can't you just see these two when they are in their 60's, having coffee and sharing about their lives! Sam, with his black socks showing and legs crossed listening to Jack tell about his adventures!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...

Remember when I shared some "changes" that I may be making/doing with my blog? Well, I think I will share "other things" not sure what the other means, but we will find out together!

Today, I am going to share with you this AMAZING face mask that my mom introduced me to: Ren Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask (available on-line or at Sephora.). No mater what I use to wash my face (soap, creams, scrubs) I always get these little dry flakey spots all over my face.

I'm sure you have noticed...they wave at you while I am talking to you. I leave the house flakeless (for the most part) and then when I get home I state out loud, "REALLY? Those weren't there when I left!"

Kind of like that unflattering hair that decides to grow 2" as soon as you step out of the house...you know what I'm saying.

Anyway, my mom shared that she has the same issues and had tried this Ren Facial Mask and had success.

I must share, I am not a fan of the facial mask. I have a history with failed masks. One, I have ultra sensitive skin. Two, I stare at the clock until the allotted 10 minutes is done and I can wash the goop off my face!!

Mask story:
My mom, sister and I were on a shopping trip. That night at the hotel, my sister INSITED that I try her new mask cream. "It's great! It won't hurt your face at all!" So of course, I put it ALL OVER MY FACE!  Sure enough, 2 minutes later, my face is on fire!! "CAN I WASH THIS OFF?!!?" Megan says, of course,  "Weeeellll. You are to keep it on for 10 minutes to get the full effect of the mask." About 30 seconds later I am in the bathroom washing my face.  I come out and both my mom and Meg look at me with big eyes. Megan's hand goes over her mouth and says, "Oh. I've never had that happen before."  I looked like the WWF wrestler Brother Love.

Meg goes on to say, "Hope that's gone by tomorrow when we go to the mall."  Really. YOU hope?

So, anyway, I haven't tried a mask since. My mom gave me a trail of hers before I would purchase my own jar. It worked like a dream! Flakes gone! and a bonus..my face was SO smooth and my make-up went on much better! The bad part is the cost...it is $55 a jar. BUT, you only need to use it once a week and you don't have to use much to get the desired effect! It was worth the money!

Must share that doing a facial mask with girls is MUCH different than doing it with a house full of boys. I was "doing" my facial mask and walking around the house to pass the time. Jack happened upon me. He looks at me...walks closer...then asks,
 "Are you sweating?"
Me: No, I am doing a facial mask.
Jack: You are doing that on purpose.
Me: Yes. It helps my skin.
Jack stares at me...looks closer...touches it...and states, "Nasty."

Christmas Cookies!

The boys headed over to my mom's before Christmas to decorate some cookies!

I'd like to share some close ups of these joyful holiday sweets!

Sam decorated a sporty #28, Adrian Petersen of the
Minnesota Vikings!

Jack created this sweet snowflake Christmas tree.

Jack also created an Elf named Jack!

Nothing like a bunch of black frosting! Yum.

Getting towards the end of decorating...not much detail.

Hmmm..what is this one, I asked.
Sam replied in his holiday cheer voice:
"Oh! I did that one! Its the headless horseman, right when his head got chopped off. See the blood?"

Warm thoughts everyone!

Sippy Glasses...

On my "unexpected break" from blogging, I found myself thinking about my blog and how I want it to continue. The reason I do my blog is so the boys will have "little" stories and snippets of their childhood. So, don't worry (if you were!) I am still going to blog.  I find myself feeling as if I have to put up LOADS of pictures, when one or two can tell a story (like today.) So, at times, posts may be short...but super sweet.

I will continue to share my "new" blog ideas as I post...beware!!

Santa gave the boys sippy glasses. Jack used them to drink water, but he couldn't see what was happening, so he switched to chocolate milk.  All I could think was, "How is he going to get that milk out. Those things are going to mold!"

The reason I was having those thoughts, was because of a doll that I had when I was Jack's age. It was one of the first "Feed Me and Watch Me Pee" dolls. Basically, you gave the doll water and it shot directly out...you know what I mean.  Well, I didn't like that my doll was digesting so quickly, so I thought I should give her something with a bit more substance...pudding would be good.  Fed her some vanilla pudding, gave her a drink of water...ew. NOt pretty of fun to clean up.

Fast forward a few weeks..months. My mom made a statement when walking into my room (she did this fairly often..like the time I kept a real bird's nest in my dresser drawer and things died in the nest...oops) "Katie, what is that smell?"  We did a little investigation and found out that the inside of my doll was rotten and moldy. guess that drink of water didn't flush out all the pudding!  End of doll.

So, in the end, Jack did a very thorough wash, which we could watch, of his sippy glasses. Now I look at them and think, "How's that water ever going to dry inside those glasses?"

Red Noses...

'Twas the season for red noses!
I went to jack's school winter party (eeeeeee) and they kiddos had put a dab of Vaseline on their noses and topped it off with a red pom-pom! Worked like a dream!

Our Elf, Henry, hung out until Christmas Eve.

On this night, he played a little trick on the boys with some red paint!

When Jack woke up and saw his nose, he immediately thought, "Oh my word! Did I leave the red pom-pom on my nose?" and then he thought, "Ohhh...that Henry!"

Sam can be a light sleeper and so Henry didn't put as much paint on his nose! I asked Sam what he thought when he saw his nose... "Oh my word mom! I TOTALLY PANICED and thought my nose was bleeding!"

How can two boys be born from the same parents and be so extremely different?
