Phone Photos 3...

Working on re-posting phone photos 2, so I thought I would share phone photos 3.  Told you we had a lot saved on our phones!

each year Sam and Jason head up to Minneapolis for a "guys" weekend. The weekend always includes a Vikings game.  I need to get a Vikings scrapbook done about these weekends..or should I say, I should get one started!

Jack and Cy at Scheel's.

Sam got a skateboard for his birthday...last year!

This is Jack jumping off the diving board at the pool for the first time.  Thank goodness I WASN"T there..i would have been too freaked out!  I was sure proud of him and he was of himself!

There is NO WAY I would have let this one happened!  Jack is going off the HIGH dive! UGH!!

This rarely happens...that both boys fall asleep in the car.  After a night ISU game, the boys were sacked out by the time we got home.

The boys and Jason went to see Star Wars: the Phantom Menace in 3D. This was at the movie theater.  You can't see Jack, because he was too short to get his head in the hole!

Mushrooming...

Jack and his Grandma Sharon went out Mushrooming in our timber.  Unfortunately, they didn't find a single mushroom...after scouring for over an hour...on the 85 degree day!  However, they did find this bone.  Yep. A real "live" bone.  They were both very excited about their find...not me. Seriously, what kind of animal had that kind of left-over bone in our woods...by our house?  So I have rationalized it all out.  It was a deer that had gotten "bowed" by a hunter and it died...and the hunter couldn't track it.  Other animals (lord knows what kind) "feasted" off the dead deer. Why only one bone left?  the "feasters" drug the other parts of the deer far away to enjoy...on their own...away from a crowd.

That is my story and I am sticking to it...though that story bothers me, too.

easter pictures...

I hope everyone had a fun Easter yesterday!  Yesterday was a good day for us...we were actually all cleaned up at the same time and willing to take some pictures!  This doesn't happen very often, so I took advantage of the opportunity!

Sam looks so old in this photo (sigh) but it's a great pic of him! Think i could use it on my Christmas cards?

This is so Jack.  I had already re-buttoned his shirt because he missed the top one. I fixed the top one and left the rest of the buttoning to him...as you can see, he missed another one at the bottom.

This is his "go to" pose.

Jack planned this pose out!

I love the little smirk on Sam's face!

Jason was willing to take a photo, too and suggested this pose!

We all look a little tired.  That might be because the boys got up at 6:15 in the morning!!
Oh..there was one other member wanting in on the photos, too!

Our Moosie May!  When i went to sit with the boys, so did she!  Love her!!

Zombie Burger...

Every once in a while, Jason and I enjoy a good burger at the local Zombie Burger restaurant.  We wanted to take the boys, but knew we would have to take them during the day so they wouldn't get scared.  Not that the place is scary...the front of the resturaunt is like a take out fast food area...the back is a bit more "real" and we have yet to sit back there...but just the word Zombie makes Sam nervous.

Saturday afternoon seemed like a good time to try it out with the boys...oops.

The "scariest" thing was the picture above Sam, but he even thought that it wasn't too bad.  Here he is giving his best Zombie look...check out the dark circles under his eyes...that was because he had a sleep over the night before and stayed up LATE.  Sam and late nights DO NOT mix!! Jason was off getting us some brain freezes...AKA shakes.

Jack giving me his best Zombie look. He also had a sleep over and we now know that jack and late nights DO NOT mix!!  At this point, Sam was trying out his s'more brain freeze and decided that he did not like it due to the "chunks" in it...AKA graham crackers.  Seriously?

My Zombie boys.
At his time, Jack had tried his cherry brain freeze (which is cherry kool-aid mixed into vanilla ice-cream) and decided he didn't like his either!  WHAT??? We are off to an awesome dining experience!  Then came the burgers and Jack's chicken fingers...

My best try at being a zombie, but it just looks like I am stretching my face and Sam looks as if he is about to fall asleep. Sam proceeded to eat his burger (but NOT the fries) and Jack...well, let's just say he DID NOT like his chicken fingers...too much coating on them, chicken didn't taste right, too much ketchup on them...on and on and on and on and on.  He then states, "I am NEVER coming here again." (oh really) At one point even Sam rolled his eyes!! I did a lot of deep breathing, but when he spit his chicken fingers out into the basket and stated again, "I am NEVER coming here again!" I had had enough.

I took his basket of food...and get this...he asked me, "Oh, do you want my chicken fingers, mom?"  I looked at him and said, very calmly, "Seriously? You want me to eat food that you just...spit...into?"  He then knew I wasn't too happy. I looked at Sam and asked him if he was going to eat any more fires or was he...done...eating... too?  He had only eaten about three fries (they are spiced up differently, but at this point, he didn't dare say that!) and he said, "I'm good." At that point I gathered everyone's baskets of food and threw them away, came back to the table, which was quiet, and said, again calmly, "We are done. Let's go."  They all got up and we walked out of the restaurant behind me.

No one said anything on the way to the car except Jason..."Wow, that was fun."

Lesson learned...the day after sleep overs we DO NOT try anything new..
and it's not what you say, but HOW you say it...especially if said very calmly and with pauses.

Jump, Jump!!

Jump, Jump!!

Daddy Mac will make you jump, jump!!

Kris Kross will make you jump, jump!

How high? Real high 'cause I'm just so fly!

A young lovable hugable type of guy!

And everything is to the back with a little slack.

'Cause inside-out is wiggity wiggity wiggity-wack!

What cracks me up is that Moose sat beside me and watched all this jumping!

(Thanks to the 90's group Kris Kross for providing today's lyrics for my post. If you would like to catch the video of Kris Kross, click here!)

Project Life...

So I have been keeping up with my Project Life album.  Basically, I am recording each week in our life, with adding anything and everything!  One of my favorite "crafters" now is Amy Tangerine.  She isn't married and  doesn't have kids, but her PL (project life) is lots of fun to look at ( also shows that everyone can scrapbook!) Another great site is Elisa Blaha - she is super creative and is also doing a PL album.

One of my new favorite things to use on my PL are these day stamps from Jenni Bowlin.

Here are a few pages from my album.  This section included photos...obviously...what the weather was like and a thank you note from my sister.

This year, I am trying to include more journaling and the stories about our family!

Sam had to write a paper for school comparing a lobster to a coyote...so I included that in an 8.5 x 11 page.  The page on the right has four 4x6 squares and then a 8x6 pocket.

ON the other side of the pocket from the above photo, I've included the boys' Lego mini figure packaging and the list of Lego Mini figures for the "series."

I really like the three pocket 4x6 size pages.

Our Valentine celebration!

Another 4x6 pocket page.  It is all about Moose and her spa treatment.  I also included a Valentine card that jack got that day...a heart shaped pizza on front of the card..perfect!!

The boys went to the movie "the Lorax," so I printed off the movie poster.  Jack makes these little "people" from paper, so I included the little wizard man in the album.

I am trying to use a lot of the paper and things that I already have in my stash...that is somewhat working because who can resist new scraping materials..especially Washi tape!!

Jack and Kermit...

I have always been in love with the Muppets, but that is a story for another day.  I was so excited when the new Muppet movie came out and last week you could buy it on DVD.  Jack and Sam popped it in the other day to watch it...again!!

Jack got his Kermit to complete his movie experience...

...laying in a box made it that much better.
(Sam and a friend made this box into a fort and jack claimed it during the movie.)

If you enjoy the Muppets, then you will love this movie.

This little guy is Walter.  he is trying to decide if he is a man or a Muppet.  LOVE his t-shirt!!

Later that day, we spotted this coming down the lane....

Jack was obviously inspired by the movie to wear his Kermit t-shirt...and his Kermit stayed with him all day.

Even for a bike ride!

Phone Photos...

Jason and i finally  figured out how to get the photos off our phones..thought I would share some pics from the past two years!

Jack "watching" one of Sam's football games in the rain.

Jason and i at the band "gear daddies." I am squinting because the flash was extremely bright!!

Jack and I went on a date to a Chinese restaurant. He thought they had the best water ever!

Jason and I at Bon Jovi!

The "kiddos" at the park.

Check out Jack's hickey mustache.  While at a Cubs game, he sucked a Gatorade bottle to his mouth and it left this nice mark for the rest of our vacation!

My little Jack Sparrows.

Jack checking out the snake that I killed with the lawn mower which lead to the saying, "That is bloody hell nasty, mom!"

When Moose's friend Esther comes to stay, they follow the boys around endlessly!
