We have an Elf on the Shelf this year. If you are not familiar with this little guy, basically the elf comes to your house and watches you all day. then at night, he flies back to the North Pole and reports to Santa on how your day was. One rule, kids cannot touch the elf. If a child does touch the elf, he may lose all his magic flying powers and have to stay at the elf hospital in the North Pole...
Here is where our Elf landed on the first day...waiting for the boys to come and eat breakfast.

Well, that morning, the boys also started their lego advent calendars. Sam brought his to the counter to build. He did not see our Elf and proceeded to sit on him all during breakfast. This is a picture of Sam with his new lego, but at the same time, it is a picture of him sitting on our Elf. When the boys FINALLY saw the Elf, Sam was MORTIFIED! His face flushed and he looked at me and whispered, "Did I kill him?" I reminded him that the Elf doesn't have any magical powers until it has a name...that seemed to save Sam a panic attack. Our Elf's name is Henry.
Each day when Henry gets back back from the North Pole...before dawn, he finds a new place to hang out.
